As a Junior Software Developer, you are responsible for implementing components of the VP MicroLab®. You perform development tasks such as 3D visualization, GUI design, file I/O, image and mesh conversion, real-time networking. Your focus will be on current state of the art hardware (multi-core CPUs and GPUs) for performing compute-intensive tasks at real time. Under supervision of a senior developer you will participate in projects in which you take responsibility for implementing sub tasks. 

Virtual Proteins B.V. is a young, rapidly growing and highly ambitious company developing Virtual and Augmented Reality solutions for 3D data analysis in pharmaceutical and medical applications. As a tool to visualize and manipulate complex proteins, Virtual Proteins first product, the award winning VP MicroLab®, contributes to the process of medicine development. Recently Virtual Proteins started the development of a new medical simulator that will be used for training and education of clinicians and healthcare students. The company, founded in 2004, is located at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Requirements

·         BS in Computer Science, related degree, or strong comparable experience.

·         Strong understanding of software architecture, OO principles and common design patterns.

·         Experience with 3D graphics (OpenGL) and widget toolkits (wxWidgets) is a plus.

·         Strong experience with C++. 

·         Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional character.
